Just some random shots I did yesterday when I was having birthday lunch with my friends. I can't really make a review out of it because I paid little attention to the overall food and drinks and the decor itself so probably my next visit to this restaurant will do. My friend says it's a new restaurant located in Sagan. It's a semi-organic restaurant with cute decoration and looks pretty Instagrammable :p From what I had yesterday, the foods didn't really leave any great impression on me because it was either too salty or bland. They definitely have a big room for improvement in the future.
Hi guys! It's been a while since the last time I posted a post under the 'foods' section here on the blog. The truth is, it's getting hard for me to do cafe hopping for the last few months because of the hectic schedule of my art group and uni of course. But today, I finally bring something new for you guys.
This cafe is called X Cafe. Me and my boyfriend just got back from his performance with the music group earlier and he was hungry. We were going to eat sushi at first, but then he decided to stop by at this cafe because we've been passing through this place for so many times already and we always say to each other 'let's try that place someday' but someday never comes. Except today! You can probably tell from the letter 'X', this cafe has so many Marvel and DC-related accessories and action figures. They sometimes even hold an auction for their action figures here. For more information and updates, just follow X Cafe on their official Instagram @xcafe_jogja!
Since it's our first time here, we play a bit safe by ordering what we feel like will still make its way through our stomach even if it wouldn't taste so good. There's still one food left and it's not shown here since the food came last before I had the chance to take the picture of all the food we ordered. My iced caffe latte comes with this really uber cute Batman cape I can scream of its cuteness. And there are many books you can read, they're mostly about Marvel or DC's characters. On each table in this cafe, there are two action figures placed. This place is really fun and I can see my boyfriend spending hours in this cafe (he's a fan of Marvel!).
The lava cake, under IDR 20k!
Boyfie's hot chocolate!
Overall? I enjoy my stay here killing our time and relaxing after quite a long day. The cake tastes delicious, though I must say the coffee is average because it tastes the same like the one I always order at Lokal. Sorry that I can't go too details (again, as usual), I didn't even take pictures of the menu because they don't hand us the menu (we order as soon as we arrive at the cashier like in McD's). And also, terribly sorry for the low quality of pictures. I've tried my best but these are taken using my phone camera. I did bring my DSLR but too lazy to take it so I left it in the car, didn't know I was gonna take a lot of pictures here.
I'm open to any questions and suggestions! xo
Sometimes I don't understand why people celebrate birthdays. Or anniversaries. Or anything that has something to do with an event annually. Why do you celebrate something? This time, when I had my twentieth birthday last April, I questioned myself; what's the point of celebrating your birthday? Why do people give gifts for the birthday person? Why do you give a treat for your friends when you're having a birthday? Why do you celebrate it when really, it's just you getting a year older.
I'm probably missing the point here, or maybe because I don't take this birthday thing in a good way. A year older means I have to be more aware of who I am, and what I'm gonna do in my life next. I'm officially twenty years old now. I'm in the age where people say I'm gonna determine my life in my twenties. My study, career, love life, and family.
Maybe they celebrate birthdays to congratulate a person for being success on going through another year of living their life. Birthdays are like new years. It signs a new beginning, a new hope, a new resolution for a person. Maybe this is why they celebrate birthdays.
Being a twenty years old woman that I am today, I have to learn how to woman-up. Set aside my selfish and dependent self. Aim for better and higher quality of life. I am thankful that I have the people I love by my side even until today to remind me that every year, I will have to strive to be a better person.
Okay, first of all, I am so sorry for neglecting this blog. How long have I been away? Oh right, A MONTH. Yep, a full month. Honestly, I've never been so absent on the blog before. But if you follow me on either Snapchat or Instagram, you guys fully know that I've been so busy with uni life. No, not just exams, but for the past three months my art group were preparing for its yearly theater performance. Actually this post itself has been lingering in my blogger's draft for so many weeks, but I never get a chance to write the actual post because I go home over 10 pm every single day and once I get home, I'd be too tired to write anything :( So for that, I apologize.
Anyway, this is a #latepost. Few weeks ago I sneaked out of my art group's practice and went to Magelang instead with my boyfriend's friends. They're all my senior in uni and in the art group. Although I got scolded for leaving behind my duties, but it was a much needed vacation because I had so much stress handling the event. Anyways, just enjoy the pictures.
I remember when Oscar promised to take me to Ketep back then. Well, I guess that's one of the reasons why I hate promises. Ketep totally reminds me with Kebun Buah Mangunan. Sadly, it was raining heavily so we couldn't stay long at the overlook. Nevertheless, it was a very fun journey. Maybe it's because the travelling partners were so much more lively than my usual clique? :p
I'm gonna blog routinely, just gathering more stuffs to be posted. So see you guys on the next post? It's good to be back! xo
